As a learner, Sian has also completed her PhD, Master of Education and Bachelor of Sport Coaching, and remains passionate about contributing to knowledge, while translating theory into meaningful outcomes that are applied in practice for the benefit of ākonga, their whānau and wider communities.

When Sian is not working, she enjoys road cycling, remaining up to date with current research and furthering her journey of increased cultural capability. Sian also remains busy chasing after her young son and looks forward to supporting him, and others, to develop and thrive with a love for learning through sport, active recreation and entertainment.
