Michelle Triggs
Regional advisor – Bay of Plenty and Waikato

Kia ora, nō Tauranga Moana ahau, ko Michelle Triggs toku ingoa, no reira, tēnā koutou katoa.
Michelle joined the organisation in October 2022. She’s an educator, connector, health and wellbeing advocate, lifelong learner, and she’s inspired by the concept of hauora. She comes from a background of many years’ secondary school teaching, initially in the area of health, physical and outdoor education and later as a SPELD tutor and Specialist Education teacher, with an interest in teaching literacy.
In the past Michelle has also worked as an exercise physiologist helping people with chronic back pain, taught swimming, aerobics, did a bit of personal training and was in the Air Force.
Michelle really enjoys bringing out the potential in others and seeing them grow. When not at work, you’ll find her feeling zen, doing yoga, developing her te reo, having a hit of tennis, bushwalking, jogging, paddle-boarding, mountain biking, spending time with her awesome family, and taming the gully on their property – turning it into a native forest. Working in the gully is a bit like painting the Sydney Harbour Bridge, by the time she gets to the end, the other end is out of control again :) Enjoying a good book also works for her too.
